I know that in season one on Netflix they changed some of the music, but what do you think of the songs they use in the show?

Also a lot of the cast members are involved with music, have you heard any of their stuff and what did you think of it?

Do you know what they changed? I was watching something the other day and I thought they changed the music but pretty sure it wasn't SPN. Wonder how often they do that.

I have seen the odd video of some of the cast signing. They are talented guys!

I have seen Rob Benedict sing live, and heard a cd, he's great.

The music they use in the show is perfect for it in my opinion. It is to my taste, and it is stuff I generally know haha. I dont much listen to new music, except in the car.

Why would they change music? Was there some kind of money/legal issue?

Yeah. I was thinking that the other day. Certainly how some songs can really resonate with a show.
For instance now whenever I hear Don't Stop Believing I think of the Sopranos, when I hear All Along the Watch Tower I think of Battlestar Galactica and of course that Kansas song.

But more than just the theme, or the songs on the radio, just all of the references in their FBI names, etc, music is a key part of the show.

I agree with what you guys have said. I love the music on the show, it fits so well and does feel like another character in itself. To me, music is so important in a movie or a tv show, it can really make or break everything, the wrong song can ruin the entire scene.

It also sets the show apart a bit. You would ordinarily expect a show that seems to be aimed at younger people to have more current music to show just how "hip" they are. It comes across to me that they have more faith in their viewers to really "get it".

That is so irritating that Netflix had to change the music. It would really take me out of the moment if I were watching it on there.

I think Netflix had licensing issues during season 1 for the music, not completely sure, but I think they don't use Kansas in the final ep. They get it sorted by season 2 though I think.

I do love the music in the show, it matches the tone of the show really well. Also creates a new generation of music lovers.

I love the Eye of the Tiger outtake of Jensen!

The music on this show definitely rocks. (See what I did there?) I love that they bounce between classic and more metal. My kind of music. I think it fits the characters well, too. I almost died laughing in the first ep when Sam is looking through Dean's tapes and asks something like "What is this? Best of 80's mullet rock?" Love it.

That's where I got mine I think. Though they also had them on etsy so I might have bought it there, can't remember.

I think shopping for Death is fundamentally wrong. I mean, if you accidentally buy it, that's one thing, but having some kind of @Death wish is a whole other matter. I should have stopped when I was ahead. I am giddy as this feels like Friday to me... soon I will realize it's not and will return to my somber self.

Although that does remind me of The Corpse Bride, which is a cute movie (although @Bela Talbot probably hates it, being a Tim Burton film)
